How to begin
The first discovery session is where you can say hello and make a human connection.
You're not committing to anything long-term; it's normal to change pace, rhythm or even director over time.
Also, if you're wondering where all the directors are, we're still in the early stages of recruiting and onboarding new people.
Not sure where to start? Most people begin in one of these ways:
I feel drawn to someone → Book a discovery session with them
I’m unsure and want to talk it through → Help Me Choose
I want to understand the process first → What happens in a session

Bruce Stanley
I ran away from the circus to explore even more creative things. These days I live and work from the stunning wilderness of the Cambrian Mountains. My spirituality is influenced by nature connection, contemporary positive psychology and older rhythms of craft and rule-of-life as practical ways to cultivate a good and flourishing life.

I am a Spiritual Director who also loves trail running. In recent years I have experienced the healing wisdom that comes from listening to our bodies and now find myself working where faith, nature, and embodied practice meet. Whether sitting quietly while tuning into physical sensations or through gentle movement. I live in the Mendips Hills in Somerset where running in nature has become an expansive and reflective space to encounter God. My roots are in the Christian tradition and I find myself increasingly open and curious as I encounter the mystery and connection between all things.

I live in the hills of mid Wales, where woodland paths, changing seasons, and quiet rhythms shape daily life. I spend my days home educating my two boys, tending to the ordinary work of family life, and noticing beauty in small, overlooked places. My own winding faith journey has left me curious, grounded, and deeply attentive to a Love that holds us as we wander and navigate life as it unfolds.

I believe that ‘everything belongs’ and love to come alongside others as they rediscover themselves in fresh ways as seasons change. I come alive running in the Oxfordshire countryside where I live, holding a paintbrush, sharing a good conversation, or resting in silence. Having lived and worked overseas, I’m appreciating the gifts of a quieter season.

My work grows from a long interest in how our inner lives and outer lives speak to each other. After years in environmental and international development work, I now spend my time looking after our small-holding and welcoming people into it. I’m drawn to how awareness, love, and the natural world quietly shape who we are becoming. Alongside breathwork, I offer a place to pause and notice what is stirring, and how it might be asking for care, courage or change.

Help me choose
If you’re unsure where to begin or who to choose, or if you have special requirements not covered in the biographies, you can book a short conversation with us to help.
In half an hour, you can talk through what you’re looking for, ask any questions and get guidance on which director might be a good fit for you.
There’s no pressure to book anything afterwards. But it can be helpful to say things out loud with someone who knows the directors and how spiritual direction works.
