This notice explains how we handle personal information when you use the SDUK website, contact us, or book services.

2. What this notice covers

This covers personal data processed by SDUK as the platform operator.
Directors listed on SDUK are independent practitioners. When you book a Director session, the Director will also process your data for their own practice purposes.

3. What information we collect

We may collect:

  • Identity and contact details: name, email address, phone number (if provided).

  • Booking information: the service booked, date/time, Director selected, booking status.

  • Payment information: transaction references and payment status. Card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us.

  • Communications: messages you send via forms or email, and our replies.

  • Technical data: device and usage information, IP address, and cookie identifiers (see Cookies Notice).

SDUK does not receive or store the content of spiritual direction sessions unless you choose to share it with us (for example, in a complaint).

Terms of Service

4. How we use your information

We use personal data to:

  • provide the platform and process bookings

  • take payment and issue refunds where due

  • handle queries, complaints, and safeguarding concerns

  • maintain platform safety and prevent misuse

  • keep records required for legal, accounting, or tax reasons

  • improve the website and service reliability (for example, diagnostics, analytics if enabled)

5. Our lawful bases

We rely on:

  • Contract: to provide the platform and booking services you request.

  • Legitimate interests: to run a safe, functional service, prevent abuse, and improve the platform.

  • Legal obligation: record keeping for tax, accounting, and compliance.

  • Consent: for non-essential cookies and, if you opt in, marketing communications.

6. Who we share data with

We may share relevant data with:

  • Wix (website, bookings, and platform infrastructure).

  • Payment processors (for example Wix Payments, Stripe depending on configuration) for taking payments and processing refunds.

  • Directors for bookings you make with them (so they can deliver the session and manage practical arrangements).

We may also share limited information if required by law, or where necessary to protect safety.

7. International transfers

Some suppliers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards (for example, adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses).

8. How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as necessary:

  • booking records and payment records: typically 6 years for accounting/tax

  • contact form enquiries: typically 12–24 months

  • safeguarding and serious incident records: minimal records, kept for 2 years then securely deleted

9. Your rights

You have rights, including:

  • access to your data

  • correction

  • deletion (in some cases)

  • restriction and objection (in some cases)

  • data portability (in some cases)

  • withdrawing consent (where we rely on consent)

10. Complaints

If you have concerns, contact us through the form via the footer.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

11. Children

SDUK is for adults aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children in connection with bookings.
